Lalitpur, Nepal – The International Conference on Advanced Functional Materials (ICAFM) 2024 commenced today, October 25, at Hotel Himalaya Kupandole, bringing together prominent researchers, academics, and industry professionals to discuss groundbreaking developments in functional materials. The three-day event, running until October 27, is organized by the Nepal Materials Science Society, underscoring Nepal’s increasing role in global scientific collaboration and innovation.

These materials, pivotal in sectors such as electronics, biotechnology, energy storage, and environmental sustainability, are critical to technological advancement and global challenges.
Co-organized by Far Western University and Tribhuvan University’s Department of Applied Sciences & Chemical Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, this event reflects a strong collaboration within Nepal's academic institutions. Dr. Tanka Mukhiya, the Convener ICAFM 2024, addressed attendees on the importance of functional materials in supporting a sustainable future, particularly within developing nations.
