Kathmandu, Nepal – In celebration of World Soil Day 2024, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in collaboration with national partners has launched a TikTok video competition to raise awareness about soil health and its sustainable management. This year's theme, "Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage", highlights the urgent need to prioritize soil preservation for sustainable development.The competition is open to all Nepali citizens and encourages participants to create engaging and informative TikTok videos focusing on the importance of soil testing, restoration, and sustainable management practices. Contestants are required to upload their videos to TikTok and share the link via email to [email protected]. The submission deadline is 15 Mangsir 2081 (December 1, 2024).
Awards and Recognition
Winners will receive cash prizes, certificates, and other rewards:
First Prize: NPR 20,000
Second Prize: NPR 15,000
Third Prize: NPR 10,000
