The National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) successfully completed a 15-hour intensive training program titled "Statistical Analysis and Modeling for Conservation Biology and Wildlife Management". The program was aimed at enhancing the analytical and research capabilities of officers and researchers working in the field of biodiversity conservation.
The training was facilitated by Dr. Fredrick Dalerum, a Senior Scientist from the Biodiversity Research Institute (IMIB) in Spain. Dr. Dalerum is renowned for his expertise in conservation modeling and ecological research, and his guidance was instrumental in equipping participants with advanced tools and methodologies for conservation science.
Participants included representatives from NTNC, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, Forest Departments, and researchers from various academic and conservation institutions. The program emphasized the use of statistical techniques and modeling to address critical challenges in wildlife management and biodiversity conservation in Nepal.
This initiative underscores NTNC’s commitment to building the capacity of conservation professionals, fostering collaboration among institutions, and promoting evidence-based approaches to safeguard Nepal’s rich biodiversity.
