Pokhara, Nepal – The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is set to organize the highly anticipated 9th Mountain Festival from December 8 to December 12, 2024 (23rd to 27th Mangsir 2081), at the International Mountain Museum (IMM) premises in Gharipatan, Pokhara. This annual event celebrates the beauty and significance of mountains, promoting environmental awareness and mountain culture.
The festival will feature an array of exciting attractions, including documentary screenings, bouldering, chhelo (a traditional stone-lifting game), cultural shows, zip-lining, and archery, making it an engaging experience for participants of all ages. These activities aim to foster appreciation for mountain life while emphasizing the importance of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of Nepal's mountainous regions.
The event is organized in collaboration with major partners such as ICIMOD, WWF Nepal, and other notable organizations. It is also supported by entities like Bird Conservation Nepal, ensuring a focus on sustainability and biodiversity conservation throughout the festival.
