Kathmandu, December 6, 2024 – An inter-ministerial meeting was held today at New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, to discuss the implementation and promotion of the National Parent Education Project. The event, organized by the Government of Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology in collaboration with the Education and Human Resource Development Center, emphasized the importance of parental education for the holistic development of children.
The theme of the program, “Balbalikako Sarbangin Bikash, Abhibhavak Shikshale Dindachha Nikaas” (Holistic Development of Children Through Parental Education), highlighted the vital role parents play in nurturing and shaping the future generation.The meeting, supported technically by UNICEF Nepal and the Seto Gurans National Child Development Services, brought together representatives from various government ministries, non-governmental organizations, and experts in the education sector to strategize on strengthening the program’s outreach and impact.
Key topics of discussion included:
Strategies for integrating parental education into existing national policies.
Collaboration among ministries to address challenges in implementing the project.
Innovative approaches to promote awareness of parental education at the grassroots level.
The National Parent Education Project aims to equip parents with knowledge and skills to support their children's education and well-being, fostering a conducive environment for learning and growth.
Government officials emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration to ensure the success of the initiative. “Parental education is a cornerstone of our efforts to achieve holistic development for children and build a brighter future for Nepal,” said a representative from the Ministry of Education.
This inter-ministerial dialogue marks a significant step forward in addressing the developmental needs of children through empowered and informed parenting.
