Kathmandu, December 18, 2024: The Nepal-China Culture and Tourism Summit 2024 commenced today at Everest Hotel, Kathmandu, bringing together key stakeholders from Nepal and China to strengthen cultural collaboration and tourism development between the two nations.
Organized by the Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) in collaboration with the East Culture Tourism Alliance (ECTA) and promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and China's Oriental Landscape & Environment Company Ltd., the event witnessed significant participation from leaders, policymakers, and tourism experts.
The summit opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Prachanda Shakya, President of FHAN, followed by remarks from Chief Guest Hon. Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. The program featured national anthems of both Nepal and China, alongside traditional rituals symbolizing respect for bilateral ties.

The morning session focused on "Culture and Tourism in the Belt and Road Initiative," highlighting the opportunities for sustainable cultural and tourism cooperation under China's Belt and Road framework.
The second session emphasized Focused Discussions with key presentations, including:
1. Nepal Tourism Board's insights into Nepal's evolving tourism sector.
2. A presentation from China on "Lessons from China on Waste and Rivers Management," emphasizing sustainable environmental practices.
