Changunarayan Municipality has achieved a remarkable milestone by launching two innovative initiatives aimed at improving water access and quality for its residents. These initiatives blend heritage preservation with modern technology, setting a standard for sustainable water management in Nepal.
Reviving Heritage: Rejuvenation of a Traditional Stone Spout (Ward No. 2)
With support from the IUWM Project and funding from BMZ and BORDA, the municipality has successfully revitalized a historic stone spout in Ward No. 2. This initiative not only restores an age-old water source but also emphasizes the importance of integrating traditional practices into modern water management systems.
Ensuring Safety: Establishment of a Municipal Water Quality Testing Minilab
Under the SARWACHA Project, funded by SIMAVI and Dopper, Changunarayan Municipality now houses a state-of-the-art Water Quality Testing Minilab. Equipped to test 15 key water quality parameters, this facility ensures safe drinking water for all residents. To facilitate its effective operation, the municipality has officially endorsed the Water Quality Testing Minilab Operation Guideline.
