Pokhara, Nepal – The much-anticipated 26th edition of the Pokhara Street Festival commenced today, bringing vibrant celebrations to the city’s iconic Lakeside area. Organized by the Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara, the festival marks the advent of the English New Year and promises a blend of cultural richness, gastronomy, and tourism revival.Spanning a 4-kilometer stretch along Lakeside, the event will run until January 1 (Poush 17), aiming to showcase Nepal's diverse heritage and hospitality. This year’s festival is themed “Let’s Eat on the Street, Celebrate on the Street”, encouraging communal celebrations and boosting local businesses.
Grand Inauguration and Cultural Highlights
The festival was inaugurated by Prithvi Subba Gurung, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, amidst a lively ceremony. Prior to the inauguration, a colorful cultural rally took place, featuring over 60 women’s groups, local ethnic communities, and representatives from various tourism-related organizations.
