Ghorahi, January 6 – The Dang District Chamber of Commerce and Industry is set to organize the 6th Agriculture, Tourism, and Trade Festival in Ghorahi from February 14 to March 1, 2025, under the theme “Development of Industry, Trade, Agriculture, and Tourism: A Solution for Dependency-Based Economy.”
The festival, to be held at Jhingaura, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-14, aims to promote local agricultural products, encourage industrial growth, and lay the groundwork for establishing the Laxmipur Industrial Zone. During a press briefing on Monday, Basanta Joshi, Chairman of the Dang District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized that the festival would play a significant role in revitalizing local industries and trade.
Promoting Local Economy and Tourism
Joshi highlighted that the festival is expected to identify and promote locally produced goods and services, enabling product development and market expansion. The event will showcase industrial and commercial goods, handicrafts, agricultural produce, herbs, tourism-related information, and technological innovations.
"The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to contribute to the development and promotion of vital sectors such as industry, trade, agriculture, and tourism in the region," Joshi said.
A Platform for Regional Collaboration
According to Mahendra Budhathoki, co-coordinator of the organizing committee and general secretary of the chamber, the festival will feature products from all 12 districts of Lumbini Province, fostering regional collaboration and economic integration.
Budhathoki revealed that the event is expected to facilitate economic transactions exceeding NPR 2 billion. “The festival is not only a platform for promoting local products but also an opportunity to attract investments and boost the local economy,” he added.
The festival, which combines exhibitions, sales, and informative sessions, is anticipated to draw a large number of visitors and stakeholders, marking a significant step toward Dang's economic and industrial progress.
