January 6th marked a significant milestone in Nepal's sustainability journey with the Climate Smart Schools initiative's outreach session in Bharatpur. Teachers from 52 schools gathered, underscoring the growing commitment to fostering climate resilience within the education sector.
The session, led by Karuna Thapa, Program Coordinator at Restless Development Nepal, provided an insightful orientation on creating Climate Smart Schools and the application process. This initiative forms part of the broader #GreenShift campaign for 2025, focusing on clean energy, circularity, and sustainability.
From the pool of applications, four exemplary schools will be chosen to champion this transformative effort, setting a benchmark for climate-conscious educational practices.
The event, supported by the European Union in Nepal, Creasion Nepal, Youth Innovation Lab, and Restless Development Nepal, reflects a collective commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future.
