Janakpurdham, Madhesh Province – Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has emphasized the urgent need to adopt environmentally friendly agricultural practices and sustainable lifestyles to combat the challenges posed by climate change. Speaking at a program held in Lakshminiya on "Alternative Wetting and Drying Technology for Climate-Resilient Rice Farming in Nepal's Tarai Region," he highlighted the detrimental impact of excessive chemical fertilizer use on soil fertility.
The event was organized with the joint efforts of Madhesh Province's Ministry of Forest and Environment, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, as well as the Global Environment Protection Center and Value Network Venture. It sought to raise awareness about innovative and sustainable farming methods to adapt to climate change.

Supporting this vision, Minister for Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives Janardan Singh Kshetri highlighted the provincial government's policy to encourage farmers to replace chemical fertilizers with organic alternatives. "We are committed to promoting organic fertilizers to foster eco-friendly farming in Madhesh," he stated.
