The inauguration of the newly constructed emergency warehouse in Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki Province, has taken place.
The Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, inaugurated the warehouse in the presence of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who participated virtually as the chief guest.Speaking on the occasion, Minister Lekhak emphasized that the construction of such warehouses is a vital part of disaster preparedness.
He stated, "I have full confidence that the warehouse will be utilized for receiving, storing, and mobilizing disaster management materials contributed by the three levels of government, national and international humanitarian organizations, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the private sector, and compassionate citizens."Chief Minister Pandey mentioned that the warehouse will facilitate the systematic storage and distribution of supplies through a one-door system.
The event also saw the participation of Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Anil Pokhrel, Executive Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, and Her Excellency Veronica Lorenzo, the Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal.
