A three-day training program on Total Sanitation is currently being held in Chautara, Sindhupalchowk, aimed at improving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices across local communities.
The training, running from September 24 to 26, is being spearheaded by the Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) in collaboration with Janahit Nepal, and has brought together 21 participants from 16 different organizations.
The main objective of this training is to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants, equipping them to promote sustainable WASH practices within their respective organizations and communities. The sessions cover a range of topics, including clean water access, proper sanitation techniques, hygiene education, and ways to implement total sanitation in rural and urban settings.
"This training provides a vital platform for community leaders and organizations to deepen their understanding of WASH principles," said an ENPHO representative. "With a focus on practical implementation, we aim to empower participants to bring about meaningful and lasting change in their communities.
"Participants come from diverse backgrounds, representing local NGOs, community-based organizations, and regional authorities. The program is designed to foster collaboration among these stakeholders, encouraging the exchange of ideas and strategies to tackle sanitation challenges in Nepal.
The training aligns with national goals to achieve total sanitation for all and improve public health outcomes through better hygiene practices. By the end of the program, participants are expected to have a solid foundation to initiate or strengthen WASH initiatives in their areas.
Together, ENPHO and Janahit Nepal are working toward creating cleaner and healthier communities, contributing to a sustainable future for Nepal.
