Kathmandu – The introduction of RZM brand’s 15- and 16-seater electric vans in Nepal marks a significant milestone in the nation’s journey toward sustainable transportation. Developed by the renowned Chinese manufacturer Shangchi RZM Auto and brought to Nepal through a joint effort by National Motors and Rathi Trading, these electric vehicles (EVs) are designed to meet the unique challenges of Nepal’s terrain.
Innovative Technology Tailored for Nepal
Speaking at the launch event, Ken Sun, International General Manager of Shangchi RZM Auto, emphasized that these vehicles have been engineered to excel on Nepal’s rugged roads. The company focused on ground clearance, enhanced power systems, and durable chassis design to ensure the vans can navigate steep and hilly terrains. Sun credited the successful adaptation to the close collaboration with Nepali partners.
Models That Redefine Efficiency
The newly launched E5 and R5 series showcase state-of-the-art technology:
E5 Series (15-Seater): Equipped with a 53.58 kWh third-generation CATL battery, it offers a certified range of 250 kilometers on mixed terrains, extending to over 300 kilometers on flat roads. It delivers a peak power of 100 kW, a torque of 300 Nm, and a ground clearance of 200 mm.
R5 Model (16-Seater): Featuring a larger body and a 77.28 kWh battery, it boasts a WLTP-certified range of 366 kilometers. With a peak power of 120 kW and a torque of 350 Nm, this van promises effortless navigation of steep inclines.
A Partnership Built on Legacy and Expertise
National Motors, a leader in Nepal’s automobile industry since 1987, joined hands with Rathi Trading to bring RZM vehicles to Nepal. With a strong foundation built on distributing SML Isuzu vehicles and a proven track record of serving schools, corporates, and fleet operators, National Motors is poised to make RZM a household name in Nepal.

Customer-Centric Approach
To ensure a seamless ownership experience, National Motors has already established 12 service networks across Nepal. Plans to provide specialized training and readily available spare parts are underway, reinforcing the company’s commitment to after-sales service.
Affordability Meets Innovation
The E5 model is priced at NPR 5.425 million, while the R5 comes at NPR 7.35 million, offering competitive pricing for high-performance EVs in the Nepali market.
