Diktel, Khotang - The First National Conference on Bamboo has commenced in Diktel, Khotang district, marking a significant milestone in Nepal's efforts to promote sustainable bamboo management and utilization. This landmark event is jointly organized by Diktel Majuwagadi Municipality and the Forest Training and Research Centre of Nepal, with support from the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC).
Hon'ble Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi, who also serves as the Chairman of NTNC, inaugurated the conference. Dr. Naresh Subedi, NTNC's Member Secretary, along with other dignitaries, experts, and stakeholders, are participating in this initiative.
The conference aims to establish a vital connection between Nepal’s ecological and economic corridors by promoting bamboo as a sustainable resource.
