Kathmandu, February 28 – Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has assured that the Education Bill under consideration in the federal parliament will focus on the best interests of students and parents. Speaking at the eighth national convention of the National Private and Residential Schools Association of Nepal (NPABSON), he emphasized the government’s commitment to legal and policy reforms in education.
Minister Lekhak highlighted the importance of creating a balanced bill that addresses the needs of teachers, school staff, private and public schools, while prioritizing students and parents. He acknowledged delays in legislative processes but assured timely completion.
He also urged the government to attract international students by providing scholarships and improving Nepal’s education infrastructure. He stressed that such initiatives could strengthen global relations and enhance the credibility of Nepal’s education system.
The government is also working to ensure a business-friendly environment, Minister Lekhak said, adding that private schools have significantly contributed to improving education quality in Nepal. However, he warned against unethical practices in the sector, urging transparency and accountability.
