Taplejung, March 2 – The Sisnekhola–Siwa Bazaar road section, part of the Tamor Corridor in Taplejung, will remain partially closed to facilitate ongoing construction work. According to an official notice issued by Faktanglung Rural Municipality Chairperson Rajan Limbu (Mukti), the road will only be open for one hour daily from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. until further notice.
The construction work, which is focused on repairing and widening the road, has been necessitated by severe damage caused by landslides during the last monsoon season. The temporary closure is expected to expedite the completion of the work and ensure a safer and more efficient road network in the region.
New Traffic Schedule:
Open Hours: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.
Closed Hours: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The restricted schedule has impacted transportation services connecting Fungling, the district headquarters, to Tapethok and Lelep, creating challenges for locals and travelers alike. Chairperson Limbu emphasized that the measures were taken to prioritize safety and enable the timely completion of construction work.
The Sisnekhola–Siwa Bazaar road section plays a vital role in facilitating connectivity for residents and boosting economic activities in the region. Local authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the temporary schedule and plan their travel accordingly.
Further updates on the road’s operational status will be communicated once the construction work nears completion.
