Kathmandu, March 9, 2025 – The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) organized the prestigious Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture 2025 at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu. Themed “Celebrating Leadership, Vision, and Legacy,” the event commemorated the life and contributions of the late Mr. Prabhakar SJB Rana, Founder President of NICCI.
The program commenced with a signature video presentation by NICCI, followed by welcome remarks from Ms. Shreejana Rana, the immediate past president of NICCI. Adding a touch of Nepal’s cultural heritage, a performance of ethnic Nepali Sarangi music enthralled the audience.
Key highlights of the event included the presentation of a short film on Mr. Prabhakar SJB Rana’s legacy, and special remarks by Mr. Siddhartha SJB Rana, Chairman of Tara Management Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Prasanna Shrivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India to Nepal.
Dr. Krishnamurthy V. Subramanian, Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and former Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, delivered the keynote address. His insights emphasized the importance of leadership and collaboration in the Nepal-India economic partnership.
The Honorable Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Mr. Damodar Bhandari, graced the event as the Chief Guest. A significant milestone was marked with the release of the “Business Climate Survey for Indian Companies in Nepal, 2024,” reflecting on the evolving business dynamics and opportunities for Indian enterprises in Nepal.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Ravi Rayavaram, Vice President of NICCI, leaving attendees inspired by the vision and legacy of Mr. Rana.
