Kathmandu - The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) has announced its 2025 Biodiversity Media Grants, aiming to empower media organizations, journalist networks, civil society groups, and academic institutions in biodiversity-rich low- or middle-income countries. The initiative seeks to address the critical challenge of biodiversity loss by improving the quality and quantity of reporting on this vital issue.
The grants, ranging from €10,000 to €12,000, will support projects that not only enhance biodiversity reporting but also build the capacity of journalists to cover related issues effectively. By equipping media professionals with the tools and knowledge to report on biodiversity, EJN hopes to raise awareness and drive action to combat the ongoing loss of ecosystems and species.
Eligible organizations and individuals working in countries rich in biodiversity or facing significant biodiversity loss are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2025.
This initiative underscores the growing need for accurate, impactful journalism in addressing global environmental challenges. Biodiversity reporting plays a pivotal role in informing public discourse, shaping policies, and encouraging conservation efforts worldwide.
