Kathmandu, March 15, 2025 - Avni Center for Sustainability (ACS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal, committed to promoting sustainability. Founded and led by passionate Nepali youths, ACS aims to cultivate 100,000 young climate leaders across the nation.
ACS operates through four key areas:
Research & Knowledge Creation: Generating scientific insights to inform sustainable practices.
Sustainability Education: Educating individuals and communities on sustainable living.
Sustainability Action: Implementing projects that promote environmental conservation.
Advocacy: Championing policies that support environmental sustainability.
The organization's impact includes mentoring numerous Green Fellows and designing projects to support local governments.
In collaboration with the World Youth Festival 2025 Nepal, ACS recently launched a national online video competition titled Quest for Indigenous Knowledge. This initiative encourages Nepali youths to document and share traditional wisdom related to sustainable practices, aiming to bridge the gap between age-old knowledge and contemporary environmental challenges.
Through these endeavors, Avni Center for Sustainability continues to empower individuals and communities, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable development in Nepal.
