The Renewable and Sustainable Energy Laboratory (RSEL) organized a project dissemination workshop titled “Demonstrating the Applicability of Modified Prefabricated Household Floating Drum Biodigester,” funded by EnergizeNepal (NORAD).
The event brought together 33 stakeholders and participants from Nepal's biogas sector to discuss the project outcomes and future prospects for clean cooking energy in the country. The workshop kicked off with an overview of the project by Prof. Sunil Prasad Lohani, the lead of RSEL, who highlighted the innovative approaches undertaken by the team.
Mr. Poushan Shrestha followed with a detailed presentation on the key findings, including a sustainability study of household biogas plants in Nepal. He emphasized how prefabricated floating biogas systems could play a crucial role in advancing clean energy solutions for rural households.
Government representatives from various agencies actively participated in the discussions, exploring the project’s outcomes and the broader challenges and opportunities in Nepal’s biogas sector. The participants reflected on the potential of such prefabricated systems in promoting sustainable cooking energy, reducing reliance on traditional biomass, and improving energy access in rural areas.
The workshop served as a platform for productive dialogue, aiming to strengthen Nepal's commitment to renewable energy solutions and further the development of the biogas sector in the country.
