The iconic Everest Trek has officially resumed, providing adventurers the opportunity to once again explore the world’s highest peaks. However, access to Manthali from Kathmandu via the BP Highway remains closed, creating some logistical challenges for trekkers.
Currently, there are three available options to fly to Lukla from Kathmandu:Kathmandu-Lukla Direct Flight – A straightforward route for those looking to fly directly to the gateway of Everest.
Kathmandu-Manthali-Lukla Flight – Trekkers can fly from Kathmandu to Manthali and then connect to Lukla from Manthali airport.
Kathmandu-Janakpur-Lukla Route – A newly established route where travelers first fly to Janakpur on a 72-seater airplane and then take a smaller aircraft from Janakpur to Lukla.
According to reliable sources, an alternative road to Manthali airport will be operational via Charikot within the next two days. This will allow trekkers to drive to Charikot and then continue their journey by flying from Manthali to Lukla, offering a more flexible option.
Stay tuned for further updates on travel logistics for the Everest region.
