Kathmandu - The Samvardhan Project, funded by the European Union and supported by ADRA Österreich, BEE-Group, Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources (ANSAB), and the Federation of Community Forestry Users, Nepal (FECOFUN), has announced a funding opportunity aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods and biodiversity conservation.
With a total grant amount of NPR 23.4 million, the initiative plans to support the development of 14 community-based enterprises. The project focuses on two main areas:
1. Production, local value addition, and marketing of forest-based and farm-based products.
2. Community-based ecotourism enterprises.
The initiative aims to empower communities in the Banke and Bardiya districts by promoting green jobs and enhancing the sustainable use of natural resources. The grants will support enterprises that not only contribute to the local economy but also prioritize environmental conservation.
