Kathmandu, April 21, 2025 — A collaborative initiative focusing on gender transformation and social change commenced today in Kathmandu. The five-day Master Training of Trainers (MToT) program, titled "Hamro Sahakarya Project," brings together prominent organizations such as the Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO), UN Women, JuRI-Nepal, CDWN, Rain Barrel Communications, Suomi Finland, and Nepal Dalit Sewa Samajh – Sarlahi.
This comprehensive training aims to equip participants with skills to drive social and normative changes, engage individuals and families in transformation, mobilize community groups and leaders, and foster strategic planning and reporting. With a hands-on practicum component, the program prepares trainees to implement real-world solutions effectively.
A key highlight of the MToT program is its focus on empowering Dalit women and promoting gender equity. By addressing deeply rooted societal norms and fostering inclusive practices, the initiative seeks to create sustainable impact at both local and national levels.
Representatives from the participating organizations emphasized the importance of community-driven solutions and collective action. “This training is not just about capacity building but about fostering a ripple effect of empowerment and transformation,” stated a representative from FEDO.
The event aligns with global goals of gender equality and social justice, emphasizing inclusive and sustainable development. By equipping trainers with tools and knowledge to facilitate meaningful changes, the program contributes significantly to fostering equity and resilience in communities.
The training, set to conclude on April 25, 2025, is expected to produce a cohort of well-trained facilitators ready to lead gender-transformative initiatives across Nepal.
