Kathmandu University (KU) and Ullens Education Foundation (UEF) have signed an agreement on October 7, 2024, to introduce a pioneering Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) program in Cybersecurity. This partnership marks a significant step forward in advancing technological education in Nepal. The four-year program is set to launch in 2025 with an initial batch of around 30 students.
The collaboration between KU, known for its academic expertise, and UEF, committed to progressive education, is expected to equip students with in-depth knowledge in cybersecurity, machine learning, and other related fields. This initiative aims to address emerging challenges in the digital landscape, preparing a new generation of tech professionals in Nepal.
Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly develop the curriculum and ensure the provision of essential infrastructure. A steering committee will be responsible for overseeing the smooth implementation and long-term sustainability of the program. The partnership reflects a shared vision of innovation in education, with KU and UEF expressing enthusiasm for future opportunities to expand their collaboration.
This initiative represents a crucial step towards building Nepal’s capacity in cybersecurity and fostering a skilled workforce to meet global digital challenges.
