Kathmandu, October 7, 2024 – The Center of Research for Environment, Energy, and Water (CREEW) has launched a call for academic research proposals under its 16th CREEW Research Grant Program. Aimed at supporting postgraduate research, this initiative offers a grant of up to NPR 50,000 for promising research projects that address critical environmental and water-related issues in Nepal.
CREEW has outlined key thematic areas for the grant, focusing on:
Groundwater and Surface Water
River Basin and Ecosystems
Integrated Waste and Resources Recovery
Climate Change and Resilience
Green Energy
Environmental Health and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
Eligibility is open to master’s students who have completed all course requirements and are in the process of developing thesis proposals for submission to their respective universities. The proposals must be centered around water resources, environmental or geo-technical engineering, environmental science, hydrology, meteorology, agriculture, or forestry, with a clear focus on Nepal-specific challenges.
To apply, students must submit a cover letter, a recommendation letter from their thesis supervisor, and a detailed thesis proposal, along with scanned academic transcripts and a student ID. The deadline for submission is December 5, 2024.
